Application Sheet Application: Electrical Resistor Grids in Locomotive Engines Product: Refractory Sheet Type RS-100 Application Information: RS-100 in 24" x 48" x 1/8" boards which are surfaced on one side. are cut into strips and a series of holes are drilled in them. These parts are used as the hot face material and in conjunction with a high temperature polyester resin that is molded into parts for use in the dynamic breaking systems of diesel locomotives. Benefits: RS-100 offers good mechanical strength and good electrical resistivity. It is not health hazardous and contains no asbestos. RS-100 imparts high temperature capability to the resistor grids.
